How to create screensaver shortcuts in Vista
Shortcuts in Windows are good,they save time and also are cool.Just think instead of clicking many times,you can accomplish specific tasks in a single click or a single hot key,wouldn't that increase productivity? Let us take a look at how to make a shortcut to launch any screensaver in Vista.In Windows,screensavers are having the file extension.scr.These files are located in Windows\system32 folder.
If you want a quick look at what kind of.scr files are there,navigate to command prompt ( Start > run > cmd) and type cd /windows/system32.
Once in the system folder,list the scr files with dir *.scr Suppose,I want to make a shortcut to launch the cool Aurora screensaver directly from my desktop.To do this,I create a shortcut that simply points to that particular.scr file. To make a new shortcut,right click on desktop (that's where I want the shortcut) and select New > Shortcut.
The path should be
%systemroot%\system32\Aur ora.scr /s
Name the shortcut and it will show up on the desktop.
To see if it is working,simply double click on it and screensaver will launch. All done...

This tutorial will help u hack torrent to increase ur torrent download speed while using torrent software like Bittorrent, Azureaus, Bitcomet....Thus, you will be able to download torrent movies,music, videos and warez all at high speed.

What is a torrent?
A torrent file is used by a torrent client to download various files likes movies, music, warez,etc. Just think of it as a set of instructions that tell the torrent client what to download. Torrent files are usually only a few kB big, but can be used download much bigger files.
The Anatomy of a torrent
When browsing torrent sites, you'll notice a lot of information regarding a torrent. Here are the 3 main terms associated with a torrent file:
Leech: A peer - or any client that does not have 100% of the data.
Seeder: A seeder is a peer that has a complete copy of the torrent and still offers it for upload. The more seeders there are, the better the chances are for completion of the file.
Peer: A peer is one instance of a BitTorrent client running on a computer on the Internet that other clients connect to and transfer data.
Torrent Clients
A torrent client is basically a program that you open a torrent in, allowing a particular file to be downloaded to your computer. There are many free torrent clients on the internet. These include BitComet, Azureus and uTorrent. Many torrent sites however, have banned clients such as BitComet, as it gives a better download speed than upload speed, meaning that people don't share their data, which is what torrents are all about. Personally, I recommend uTorrent. Its fast, simple and easy to use.
Downloading
***For any examples given, please note I will be referring to uTorrent on Windows***
***It should also be noted that torrents take a while to get started properly. I recommend you wait at least half an hour before really investigating the issue of poor download speeds***
Okay, so let me begin. You've just come across a torrent you really want. So, naturally enough you open it in a torrent client. So you're sitting there with a torrent. Downloading. One thing though, the download rate is shit, right? This is a common among torrent users, so don't blame your computer. There are a number of reasons for the poor download rates, some of which I will discuss below.
Routers
Ah routers. These are one of the main limiting factors of a torrent's download rate. Basically your router has to have specific ports open on it to allow connections from other peers.
This is called port forwarding. I won't go into detail here, as theres enough information for its own article, but I will tell you to go to www.portforward.com. It contains specific configurations for almost every router and program combination under the sun (Sorry). Just follow the instructions, and you should be downloading with great speeds in no time. If not, just read on below!
Firewalls
Okay, in uTorrent go to Options>Preferences>Connection you should see "Port used for incoming connections" and a box beside it. In the box there should be a number. Take note of it, its the port number that uTorrent is listening to for connections. Okay, now go into the control panel on Windows, and double click the "Windows Firewall" icon.Click the "Exceptions" tab and click "Add Port". For name type "TorrentTCP", for port type the port number you took note of earlier, and click TCP, then hit "OK". Repeat the process except this time, for name type "TorrentUDP", for port enter the same as before, and click UDP, then hit "OK". Okay, go check the downlaod speeds on your torrent, if its not improved then read on my friends.
Torrent Client Hacking
Okay guys, my saving grace. A lot of this section is taken from www.torrentfreak.com so big up to those guys.
1. Hack the max half-open TCP connections
If you're on XP sp2 , your TCP connections are limited to a maximum of 10. This might hurt your downloading speed because it wont let you connect to as much peers as you want. It is supposed to slow down viruses because their spreading strategy is to connect to a high amount of ip numbers, but it could cripple your torrent downloads. A nice way to fix this is to download this patch http://lvllord.de/?lang=en&url =downloads also http://torrentfreak.com/evid4 226 patch223d-enzip/
Note: Some people report that their antivir reports the patch to be a Virus, This is not the case.

The patch allows you to set the maximum allowed connections to any number you want. Any number between 50 and 100 is ok (more is NOT always better).
Next you need to configure your torrent client to allow 50- 100 max half-open TCP connections
In uTorrent, go to: Options>Preferences>Advanced options>net.max_halfopen and change its value to 80
then hit "Set" and "OK".
2. Maximum upload speed
Probably the most important setting there is. Your connection is (sort of) like a pipeline, if you use you maximum upload speed there's not enough space left for the files you are downloading. So you have to cap your upload speed.
Use the following formula to determine your optimal upload speed¦
80% of your maximum upload speed
so if your maximum upload speed is 40 kB/s, the optimal upload rate is 32kB/s

Google Search Save Time, Open Results in a New Window
Save time researching Google search engine results by opening web pages in new browser windows.
When you perform a search with Google, your time may be spent doing the following:
1. You perform a search.
2. The results page appears. You try one link that looks good.
3. Once you are done visiting the link, you either use the Back button or re-access Google and re-perform the search.
4. You look at a second result.

6. Repeat.
Instead of doing this, there is a way you can keep the Google search results on the screen while using a different browser window to view resultingges. Instead of clicking on a search results link, click on a link with the right-mouse button and choose "Open in New Window" (Macintosh users - hold the OPTION key down while clicking on a link and choose "Open in New Window"). Now, your search results will remain on screen while you research other pages, saving you time!
If your browser supports the feature, you can also open a link in a new Tab. This lets you keep the search results page in one tab and resulting links in another, only using one window onscreen.

5 Things to Do as Soon as You Purchase a New Computer
Increase your computer security and reduce potential headaches later by doing these five things as soon as you purchase a new computer.
Have you just purchased a new desktop or laptop computer? Congratulations, and hopefully you will get plenty of use out of your new machine, whether it is for business, finance, research, multimedia, or purely entertainment (or a little of all the above).
But wait - don't open the boxes, plug in the cords, and try to start surfing the Internet just yet! Take a few minutes and follow these 5 steps that can help increase your computer security and possibly remove some potential headaches down the road.
1. Emergency Disks
Some computers come packaged with CDs or DVDs you can use to reinstall the operating system and pre-installed software in case something goes wrong, such as a hard drive hiccup, malware infestation, or an itchy trigger finger that loves pressing the 'Del' key. If such discs are included, place them in a safe place and make copies once the computer is set up.
If these did not come with your computer, read its manual for instructions on how to create them, if possible. Do so ASAP - before you go online, install new software, uninstall software that came pre-packaged but you do not need, etc. Better yet, make a second copy of these disks for safe keeping.
2. Install Security Software
Before connecting to the Internet, either via a wired or Wi-Fi connection, make sure you have a working firewall and antivirus software at a BARE minimum; surfing without such programs can open your computer up to all types of nasty malware. If your operating system has a built-in firewall, turn this on if nothing else is available, but do consider downloading a replacement.
If you have another computer, use it to download a firewall, anti-virus, and anti-malware applications. Either burn a CD/DVD or use a USB flash drive to copy them to the new machine. Install this software before you ever connect to the Internet to reduce the chances of problems. Once you are online, immediately download updates as needed.
Note that if your computer comes built-in with security software, you may need to remove these packages first if you decide to install alternatives (see below).
3. Uninstall Software
Go through the list of installed software through the computer's "Add/Remove Programs", "Uninstall or change a program", or similar tool (check the Control Panel). Remove any pre-installed " bloatware ", software you may not need such as trial games, photo applications you may never use, website toolbars, links to Internet Service Providers you will never access (especially if you already have one), etc. Do keep the installed security software unless you are offline and ready to install different applications.
4. Consider a New Web Browser
When you go online, you are not stuck with your operating system's default web browser if you want to surf the web. There are plenty of alternatives available such as Mozilla Firefox , Opera, and Google Chrome , and using another web browser may increase your overall security.
Even if you install a new web browser, be sure to keep the one that came with your operating system up-to-date to help prevent malware from attacking your system via an exploit.
5. Update All Software
Speaking of doing software updates, after going online but before browsing the web, immediately update your operating system (including the built-in web browser). Check for updates to document readers such as Adobe Acrobat Reader and any installed multimedia players. Plus, look for updates to installed browser plug-ins such as Adobe Flash, Adobe Shockwave, Java, QuickTime, and RealPlayer. Exploits can potentially be found in any software installed on your system; keeping everything up- to-date helps reduce the risk of your computer getting infected by malware.
While you may immediately be ready to unpack and use your new computer, following these five steps will help increase your security when going online.
